Prayer

Remember a group of ladies from the church (18?)  They are traveling to and from St. Louis for the Women of Faith conference.

I would like to ask your prayers for me and my family.  I will be having surgery on my neck Feb. 27 in Louisville.  I have a disc that is putting pressure on my spinal cord.  Two doctors have giving me the same conclusion.  They say it is a simple surgery only about an hour.  Thanks a lot

We all have opinions and I would like to hear some.  I went to a women’s leadership meeting this weekend and came out with a lot of questions.  Tell me what you would like.  I have gotten back about 20 surverys and I thank you for that. ( I sent out about 130)  Don’t worry about hurting my feelings, I want to know where we should be going.(what direction to take).  Maybe you think I’m not the one to lead the group (that has acrossed my mind as well).  But please let me know your feelings, thoughts, etc.

j0227506.jpgThe Lynch mission trip is Aug. 18-23.  Be in prayer for them the whole week and especially Friday evening.  They will be feeding (making pizzas) and Bro. T will be preaching to one of the area towns.

Somethings we have to bring up subjects that aren’t very pleasant.  Well this is one of those times.  At the last Bayou Girls meeting I informed the girls about this situation and now I think I should let everyone know.  We have had a few incidents at church with kids being where they shouldn’t.  We have areas blocked off during upwards due to rooms being messed up and things missing.  But we are still finding kids in the restricted areas.  We have even found kids playing in the baptistry.  We have had problems not just during upwards games.  The nursery has been messed up several times and Shirley’s snacks and juice have been taken.  We aren’t saying children aren’t allowed in church we are asking you to know where your child is and to ask them to respect the church building and all that is in it.  Also due to safety reasons we ask no one under the age of 14 be allowed in the weight room.  Thank you and help us keep our children safe.

j0402353.jpgWhen someone is seriously ill or in a wreck, what do you do?  (Pray, call the preacher)  Those are great things but wouldn’t it be wonderful to have the whole church praying for you within a matter of minutes?  Within the next month we would like to have a system set up to do just that.  A list will be in the foyer for each family, that wants to participate, to put down a daytime contact (phone number, cell, email, etc) and an evening contact.  After we get all the names we will hand out the lists.  Sometimes things can’t wait until Wednesday night or Sundays.

There are many in our church that have been affected by cancer in some shape or form.  Either you have had it, are dealing with it now, or know someone with it.  The ladies in the WOM feel a large need to help with this fight.  We are looking to see how to get a team organized and started.  If you would be interested in participating or if you  know a contact person, please let Leah or Shannon Vaughn know.  A lot of work is involved in a team and we will need everyones support.  Please start by praying.

Our 2007-2008 school year is here.  We need to make sure we pray not only for our children, grandchildren, etc. but also for the faculity, staff, and board members.  These people teach our children and probably see our children more than we do during the school year.  Let’s pray that God will shine through all of them.
