Mission Project

Who is Elisa Broadus?  This is the name of the KY State Missions Offering.  We will be collecting this offering during the month of Sept.  Our church goal is $800.  Offering envelopes will be in the bulletin the first Sunday of Sept. and on the table in the foyer.  This offering helps support Lonnie Riley in Lynch and many others.

In August our church has organized a mission trip to Lynch KY. Bro. Lonnie Riley is can-goods.jpgthe overseer of this mission field. He has informed us that they are out/running very low on can goods. They have even had to shut down their pantry due to this. So until the trip we will be collecting can for this ministry. Please only can goods. You can place you items in the foyer.

baby-bottle.jpgOur annual Baby Bottle mission project for ‘Hope Unlimited’ is on it’s way. All fifty bottles were picked up the first Sunday of our campaign. This is a great ministry in-which our church participates in. The bottles are due back June 22. If you did not get a bottle and would still like to participate, fill a pint zip-lock bag. This ministry helps young women that are pregnant that would otherwise terminate the pregnancy.

You can help children who might not otherwise receive toys this holiday season by donating a toy to the WPSD NewsChannel 6 Spirit of Giving Toy Drive.

Just bring a new unwrapped toy to the church by Wed., Dec. 12.

The toys you give will stay in the areas in which they are given. Community service organizations in your area will distribute the toys to needy children.

Thank you in advance for sharing with the children of our region!

To raise money for our Relay for Life team, we will be serving dinner on Wednesday nights.  We will begin serving at 6:00pm.  The menu will be in the bulletin a week in advance for you to sign up.  To begin we aren’t setting a price.  We are asking for donations, comparable to going out to eat.  We know some weeks are easier on the pocket than others.  We want this to help you and relay, not be a hindrance.  If you feel lead to help in this area please email the church.

Our September Missions project is a state wide project.  It is the annual food drive for the Kentucky Baptist Children’s Home.  But instead of can goods they would like you to purchase gift cards from Wal-Mart or Kroger.  The can goods overload their facility and some items go out of date.  A box is in the foyer.

Thank you for your support in the mission projects- last month- school supplies, was wonderful.

There are many in our church that have been affected by cancer in some shape or form.  Either you have had it, are dealing with it now, or know someone with it.  The ladies in the WOM feel a large need to help with this fight.  We are looking to see how to get a team organized and started.  If you would be interested in participating or if you  know a contact person, please let Leah or Shannon Vaughn know.  A lot of work is involved in a team and we will need everyones support.  Please start by praying.
