Each month Shannon and I (Leah) like to give the Bayou Girls a word or phrase to think about.  For the month of June your word is ‘pray’.  Pray for your neighbor, co-worker, unsaved friend, etc.  If you look at the church prayer list and the list on this blog they are long and we continue to add.  We have seen the power of prayer and some have experienced it.  So PRAY

Thanks to everyone who helped replenish our cards. We had a great time making them. And remember if you know of someone who needs a cards (Thinking of you-Get well-etc) contact Candy Lawrence.

June is a very busy month in the life of our church and individual families. We have vacations and extra activities crowding our schedules. We need to remember God doesn’t take a vacation. Sundays and Wednesdays we will be having services and God is always available for prayer time. Thank you God for not taking vacations, were would we be if HE did?

In August our church has organized a mission trip to Lynch KY. Bro. Lonnie Riley is can-goods.jpgthe overseer of this mission field. He has informed us that they are out/running very low on can goods. They have even had to shut down their pantry due to this. So until the trip we will be collecting can for this ministry. Please only can goods. You can place you items in the foyer.

Great News!!!!!!!!! Lisa Whelchel is coming to Paducah. She will be at Southland August 1-2. Cost for the 2 day conference is $20 before June 1 and $25 at the door. She is best known for her charactor ‘Blair Warner’ in the ‘Facts of Life’. She now authors books and homeschools her 3 children. She also is the founder of MomTimes ministries and speaks at parenting and women’s conferences across the US.

baby-bottle.jpgOur annual Baby Bottle mission project for ‘Hope Unlimited’ is on it’s way. All fifty bottles were picked up the first Sunday of our campaign. This is a great ministry in-which our church participates in. The bottles are due back June 22. If you did not get a bottle and would still like to participate, fill a pint zip-lock bag. This ministry helps young women that are pregnant that would otherwise terminate the pregnancy.
