From the pastor...

Family. When I think of family, I think of Spring Bayou. Unlike many faith families, these people are not closed off or inclusive, but brothers and sisters. They understand brokenness and healing, hurt and comfort, pain and pleasure, disappointment and blessing. How do they understand that? Because they are sinners that have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus and transformed by the grace of God. I found out all too well…

You see, Spring Bayou received me and my immediate family as a part of their own several years ago. I didn’t come to be their pastor, or any other position. I was a saved, but broken man. Pride, hurtful words, and sin had left me wrecked. I was ready to quit on church. No, I would never stop going, but I wanted to just sit on a pew, take up space, do my thing, and leave until next Sunday

However, this entire group nurtured a calling God had on my life. As God began to speak to my heart, I fell in love with this people that received me as their own. I fell in love with God’s church. A spiritual healing took place. I was nurtured, encouraged, revived. Even then, it was never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to become a preacher of the Gospel, much less the pastor of Spring Bayou. Yet here I am.

Now I'm not gonna tease you and try to make you think we're perfect. That would be a lie. It would give you a false sense of security and would set you up for failure. I think people try to find churches like Goldilocks tried to find comfort in the home of the three bears. If you're expecting to find every person, every message, and every ministry to be "just right?” It’s just not realistic and we are probably not the place for you. We teach that being a part of a church is not about what the church can do for you, but what can you do for Jesus, through His church.

So, if you want to study and learn The Word, reach a community with the Gospel, be involved in God's Great commission, serve Him by loving others, grow in grace and truth, and worship freely in Spirit, then please consider a visit to Spring Bayou. I personally invite you and challenge you to come. Participate in a service. Ask questions. Come to a small group. Eat around the table. Find out for yourself if this is your home.

Blessings,
