Spring Bayou Baptist Church Leadership
Spring Bayou Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Aaron Garrett
Youth Pastor
Kate Prince
Worship Leader
Music has always been a passion in my life. When I was 9 years old, I began singing in church; at 14 I became our church organist. My parents spent many years taking me all over western Kentucky to sing in revivals. In high school, I joined a gospel trio, went on several international mission trips to sing, and my grandparents sent me to the Stamps Baxter School of Gospel Music in Nashville each summer. God brought me to Spring Bayou in 2009, and the members have become my second family. It is a privilege and blessing to direct our church choir and serve as the Worship Leader of SBBC.
Kandi Hayes
Secretary
I have been working in the ministry field since 2006. My secretary days started when I was just a child. I pretended to play office all the time. I have been “officially” working in the office since 1999 in some compacity. I first came to Spring Bayou in 2005, where my Band Director husband was called into the ministry. He became the Associate Pastor/Youth Minister at Spring Bayou. After about 8 years God called him to be the Senior Pastor at another church. Spring Bayou has always held a special place in my heart. The church he pastors now, Newton Creek Baptist Church, partners with Spring Bayou on a lot of things. God brought me back to where it all started in 2024 as the Secretary. I haven’t looked back! I have 2 children. Their names are Hope and Isaac. I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to camp, kayak, and love a good campfire while roasting marshmallows. I absolutely love animals of all kinds, in fact I have a small zoo at home!!! My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13.
Michelle Benton Cowger
Nursery Leader
I have attended Spring Bayou Baptist Church all of my life. Thanks to my parents, Charlotte and Kenneth Benton who brought my brother and me to Sunday School and Church every Sunday to give us spiritual training. I have been a member of SBBC since I was 9 years old. In 1997, after graduating high school, I began teaching the 2 and 3 years old Sunday School class. which I taught for 26 years. In 2024, I took over keeping SBBC Nursery. I have been a child care giver for 27 years. Each child is special to me and I treat them like they are my own child.
